Paperchain Dolls with Jordan

In this post, we're going to be creating paperchain dolls with the help of Jordan!

Hi everyone! Jordan here, today I wanted to share with you a really fun way of creating some playful paper dolls.

My daughter Ivy absolutely loved doing this. She enjoyed playing with them and taking them on adventures.

You can decide to create all your characters to be similar and a practical way of achieving continuity is to create a paper template.

Sketch a figure and cut it out. If not you can draw all your characters individually!

To create your paper dolls the paper being used has to be quite strong. If you have card that's great! If not, just use something like a cereal box like I have done.

You will now have to use the template you created and draw around it as many times as you wish. Make sure you link the characters hands to form a chain! Make it as long as you wish!

The next step is to use any drawing, colouring or sticking material to decorate as you wish.

Finally, you will have to use some scissors to carefully cut around the entire group of paper dolls. An adult might have to do this stage.

Here we have Ivy’s finished paper doll chain. She named them all. From left to right we have Dotty and Stripey, Squiggles and Wiggles Jo with a Bow.
